Art and Design

Through the Art and Design curriculum, we aim to build on prior learning to provide learners with opportunities to develop and explore the use of art and design materials, techniques and technology in a creative and expressive way. We help to progress the practical skills of learners, their problem solving skills and reflective skills. In addition, we aim to develop their investigation and research skills of artists and designers. Each topic allows our young people the opportunity of personalisation and choice and the right to share their opinions with others.

Broad General Education

In S1 - 3 pupils follow units of work. All topics incorporate the visual elements and design principles as well as align with the Benchmarks, Experiences and Outcomes within Curriculum for Excellence. We also listen to pupil voice in our development of further units of work to ensure engagement and differentiation for all.
